The Romanesque-Byzantine St Étienne Cathedral, crowned by two amazing domes, celebrated its 900th anniversary in 2019. In honour of the event, the Treasury's pride and joy, the Sainte Coiffe (Holy Headdress) was paraded through the streets. The cathedral sports a composite appearance: a domed Romanesque nave linked to the east wall and a western facade resembling a fortress. The magnificent north door boasts a richly decorated tympanum illustrating the Ascension and the cloisters are lavishly sculpted.
