Construction of the co-cathedral of Santa María began in the 15C and was completed in the 16C. Inside the church, three Gothic aisles of almost equal height feature ornate ribbed vaults enhanced by slim columns and pillars. Note, in particular, the beautiful sculpted altarpiece on the main altar. To the left of the church as you exit, admire the Palacio de Carvajal, flanked by a 12C round tower.
