The Bresse, which lies to the south of Burgundy, is a captivating land renowned for its traditions and gastronomy. This is bocage country, with many waterways running across the area. The landscape is easily recognisable by its meadows populated by white poultry, corn dryers and pretty timber-framed farmhouses, some with peculiar chimney pots. The Bresse Museum in Saint-Cyr-sur-Menthon offer an insight into the history, customs and economy of the area.
