Opis

Perched on an artificial hill presiding over Registan Square, the Ark Fortress was laid out like a city within the city. Despite Russian bombings, the fortress has lost none of its magnificence and the very fine decorations in the palace and coronation hall have remained intact. Also worth seeing are the prisons, into which the few westerners who managed to enter Bukhara after its commercial decline were thrown.
