Three drawbridges restricted access to this castle whose existence is recorded as early as the 10C. Note the pure line of Vauban's staircase. The "Primitive" Chamber has stout walls, next to the Godefroy de Bouillon Chamber hollowed out of the rock, where a cross has been sunk into the floor. From the Austria Tower, there are magnificent views of the castle, the River Semois, Bouillon and the old bridge to the north. In summer, falconry displays and nightly torch tours are organised.
