Begun in 1945 (and inspired by the Marimurtra Botanical Garden), Pinya de Rosa is now the world's largest cactus garden, with over 7 000 varieties from around the world. Its founder, engineer Fernando Riviere de Caralt, devoted decades to this place. Sited on a rocky inlet, its paths run across the site (unspoilt by construction), leading down to a refreshing little pool surrounded by palms.
