The tiny Varoša district extends from the Bistrica to the Rila moutain slopes laid out as a park (Lovendom Park), on which it rises in terraces. It has steep, roughly cobbled narrow streets and fine white houses in the National-Awakening style. Most of them have been turned into cafés, restaurants or art galleries. Must-see buildings include: the Hristo Hotel and the Church of Our Lady (Sv. Bogorodica).
