With its small coves fringed with pine trees and lapped at by azure waters, and its steep mountains dropping almost vertically into the sea, the coastline around Begur is sublime. From the village, the roads wind through the pine groves to the main beaches: to the south, Aiguablava, Fornells and Platja Fonda; to the east, the tiny port of Sa Tuna and the rocky creek of Aiguafreda; to the north, the large beach of Sa Riera, the most easily accessible and just next door, the famous creek Illa Roja.
