The Barcelona City History Museum is located in Casa Clariana-Padellàs (15C), a fine example of Gothic civil architecture. The tour starts in rooms devoted to the foundation of the Roman city, and includes a visit to the remains of a Roman villa discovered beneath the square. This section of the visit takes you right across the square to the Palau Reial Major, inside which are the Salón del Tinell and the Santa Águeda chapel, open to the public.
