The Rambla de los Flors, or Rambla de Sant Josep, is an explosion of colour. A quintessential feature of the city, this narrow section of the Ramblas lined with plane trees taken from the Devesa park in Gerona at the end of the 19C threads its way between flower stalls and the crowds of passers-by. The famous Catalan artist Ramón Casas (1866-1932), who brought Impressionism to Catalonia, immortalised it in many pictures and married a beautiful florist.
