Théodore Rousseau lived in this small house with a barn that he converted into his studio where, around the year 1850, artists would congregate every Saturday. These get-togethers were attended by amateur painters, critics, artist friends such as Daumier, as well as writers such as Théophile Gautier. Today, it is an annexe of the Musée Départemental des Peintres de Barbizon. Temporary exhibitions are also held here.
