Devoted to conserving the manuscripts of Mont St Michel, Scriptorial showcases, by way of a modern museum design (friezes, interactive terminals), the stages in the manufacture of medieval manuscripts, and the tools and materials used. It also displays original works or copies (including Plato's Timaeus and 9C fragments of Cicero's De Oratore), masterpieces that give an insight into the spiritual, intellectual and artistic heritage of the Benedictines and, through them, the medieval world.
