The Mourre Nègre (or "Black Face") is the highest point of the Luberon mountains (1 125m). The immense panorama from the summit takes in the Lure mountain and the Prealps of Digne to the northeast, the Durance Valley to the southeast, with Mt Sainte Victoire in the background. To the southeast you can see the Étang de Berre and the Alpilles and, to the northwest, the Bassin d'Apt, the Vaucluse plateau and Mt Ventoux.
