Nestling in the Authie valley, the abbey occupies a site of outstanding beauty, in keeping with Cistercian traditions. Admire the superb railings in the chancel inside the Baroque church and the Louis XV Rococo style wood panelling in the sacristy. Stroll in the "free garden", designed by Gilles Clément, where the plants are classified according to their traits: formal gardens, "Island Gardens", "Garden of Five Senses" and a space named after Lamarck, a botanist who was the first to expound a theory on the evolution of living beings.
