Die-hard archaeology fans will forge ahead to this sanctuary dedicated to Hera, the Argolid's tutelary goddess of fertility. It is especially worth seeing for the beauty of the location, a vast plain carpeted with orange and olive trees. Built during the Mycenaean era and still active under the Romans, it has three terraces, which made it one of the greatest sanctuaries in Antiquity. The second and third reveal the foundations of two Doric temples.
