This fortress was only built at the end of Muslim period in the 14C and was strategically vital to defend against Castillian troops. Two towers stand out against its walls: the Torre del Homenaje, the keep, also known as the "Reloj de Papabellotas", nowadays crowned by a Renaissance bell tower; and the quadrangular Torre Blanca. From here, enjoy the views of the rooftops of Antequera and the Peña de los Enamorados. Gardens have been laid out inside the ramparts.
