Cité BD (Comic City) occupies two sites on either side of the Charente River linked by a footbridge adorned with a statue of Corto Maltese, Hugo Pratt's legendary hero. One has a library, a genuine temple of comics, that contains nearly all the French cartoons produced since 1946. The other houses the Musée de la BD, which charts the evolution of this art form from the 1830s to the present day, and a huge bookstore. Also: two cinemas, a restaurant, a cyberspace and two schools related to the multimedia industry.
