La Costa Tropical refers to the one hundred or so kilometres of coastline in the province of Granada, from La Herradura to La Rábita, whose climate has made it possible to develop crops that are found nowhere else in Europe: avocados, mangos and kiwis. Unfortunately somewhat spoilt by tourism-related urbanisation, on the positive side the coast still has a superb village, Salobreña, as well as small creeks on the steep coast that are harder to reach.
