The North Jutland Art Museum is undoubtedly one of the best art museums in Denmark. The modern building (1972) backs onto woodland and was so designed as to allow natural light to flood the works from above. It houses collections of Danish and foreign 20C art. Star billing is given to the Cobra Group, with many paintings by Asger Jorn and Ejler Bille. You can also see works by Appel, Alechinsky, Poliakoff and artists from the Surrealist and neo-Dadaist movements of the 1960s and 1970s.
