It was here, at Lees Ferry, that in the late 19C, the first ferry was inaugurated on the Colorado, which at the time was the only route between Arizona and Utah. Today, it is a departure and arrival point for boat trips and white water rafting adventures. Lees Ferry offers a very fine viewpoint and, furthermore, is the only point of access (in over 700 miles) to the bank of the Colorado River. The pretty Paria Beach presides over the site, where several hikes suitable for all levels begin.
