Covering an area of 35km2, Kozara National Park was the scene of intense battles during the Second World War. A memorial in Dušan Džamonja, standing in the middle of the park, pays tribute to those who lost their lives. The park is home to different animal species such as deer, fox, hare, wild boar and pheasant, in a habitat of abundant flora dominated by fir trees. The village of Mrakovica is the starting point for many hikes.
